Goals…when you want something

When you want something, the whole universe conspires.

When you think about the bills you couldn’t pay, the job you could lose, the sacrifices you have to make, the frustrations in the past etc, you are focusing yourself on what you do not want, which makes it more difficult for you to achieve your goals.

Often, we are too concerned of not getting the things we want that we tend to shift our thoughts, action and attention to the things we do not want. Many times, our minds are filled with worries and negative beliefs which are too overpowering that we slowly lose track of our goals – things we really want.

Focusing on what you want

The problem is that most of us do not know what we truly want. We tend to focus on things that give us short-term happiness and enjoyment. The key is finding those that have a significant impact on the long-lasting success in our personal lives, relationships and careers. Once you are able to determine what these things are, you start to live your life on purpose. You become inspired, motivated and willing to face whatever kind of challenges and trials that may come your way. You don’t waste time, money and energy because you only care about things that matter.

And when you really want something, the entire universe conspires to make it happen. That’s the law of attraction. You eliminate the negative beliefs that divert your attention to things you don’t want. These include fear, anger, frustration, anxiety, and worry. Who wants to experience all these? Nobody. But why is it that many people feel these negative emotions?

Defining your goals

Thinking on what you do not want does not give you any clue whatsoever on the things you want. Take time to brush away the worries you have and focus your mind on the things you want to achieve in your life, whether it is a fairytale-like love life, an executive post in a prestigious company, or a comfortable life. Write them down. Draw pictures if necessary. Create visual things that will remind you of your goals. If you have many of them, group them according to your priorities. It’s unlikely that you’ll get them all at once. It takes time and perseverance.

Focusing on your needs

Who doesn’t want to have huge savings in their bank accounts, a beautiful mansion, a luxury car, and all that wealth? Just by imagining these things, we could already feel some sort of excitement and joy. But in the long run, they become meaningless. Many scientific studies have shown that it is not the material things that give us long lasting happiness. Rather, achieving balance in the major areas of life – physical, emotional, spiritual and interpersonal. By making sure that your needs in all these aspects are met, you could live a life that is full of happiness.
